About Our Group

 

1st Chipping Norton Scout group is located in Peterson Park, off Newbridge Rd Chipping Norton. The Scout group caters to young people aged 8-18 and is run by parents and volunteers.

Scouting is the world's largest youth organisation, with over 26 million members worldwide in 220 countries. Scouting has influenced many people to do great things with their lives, from adventurers like Bear Grylls and Dick Smith to world leader Barrack Obama and even Bill Gates.

Scouting’s purpose is to develop character and good citizenship and this is achieved through a program of fun, adventurous and challenging activities. The program is age appropriate and encourages physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual and character development.

We achieve this through experiencial learning, fun activities, working in small teams and leadership development. Scouts are encouraged to challenge themselves and take a leading role in their program and development.
